Day 3 of UT Dr. Trip

23 Aug

Today was fun. I need to get to bed earlier. My Mom and I have been doing too much partying! ;)

So tired…ZZZZZzzzzz…

First thing this morning was my sister Amy’s Baby Shower. It was SO much fun! We played games, ate some good food and chatted for quite a while afterwards. I LOVE pregnant bellies so much, it’s so fascinating to feel the baby move inside the belly! My sister Amy’s baby had the hiccups and was irritated by my hand on her belly and it felt so weird to feel these big lumps moving around while it hiccuped on the other side of her stomach!

My brother in-law who is a fire-fighter showed me a picture after the party was well over – of this guy they found down by the I-215/Redwood exit who was racing another car, he swerved and crashed into the traffic camera pole – his engine blew up and he burned to death (down to the bone). The picture was surprisingly not that gross but looked more like an archaeological find! The lesson from this picture:

  • Don’t race other cars
  • Wear your seat-belt
  • Drive safe

After the party my other sister Maren and her girl Megan and I went and had girl time. I LOVE girl time :) We went shopping – I got Clark some white socks at GenX, and we went out to eat at Cafe Rio. MMmmmmmmm I wish we had Cafe Rio at home in CA!!!! It’s SOOOO good! :D

My niece Megan (tired from shopping – ready for a nap!):

I’m back at my Parent’s house now blogging, and then I’m going to do a little homework – take a shower and then head over to my sister Maren’s house for some more girl time and then back here to my Parents to sleep.

Clark’s Scavenger Hunt Day 3

Alright, no more sad songs this time, promise! In the beginning of our dating – I remember one of the earlier movies we watched that was a milestone for us. Take a guess… any guess… and then watch:

Day 2 of UT Dr. Trip

23 Aug

Just FYI – I have been reading ALL your comments and plan to respond to everyone when I get more than 10 min to sit down and blog. I have been kept SO busy ever since I arrived here :) School has started so when I’m not going to an appointment or visiting with family I am quickly checking my email, blog and then I’m trying to keep up with  my school homework. This trip has been SO much fun!

What I did today was:

  • Woke up at 11AM, BARELY in enough time to quick get ready and then run to a RELAXING massage appointment with my sisters and my sister Amy’s Best Friend who’s in town for Amy’s Baby Shower (tomorrow). They’ve been best friends their entire lives, it’s so cute to see them together :D
  • Went shopping with my Mom for a gift for Amy’s Baby :) I got a package of onesies (so I hear you can never have too many Onesies for your baby) and a cute Zip-Up hoodie that says’ FOOTBALL on it.
  • Went over to my Brother David’s House to hang out with my sister Maren, Becky-Kay (David’s wife) and their two kid’s Spencer and Jake and Maren’s girl Megan and my Mom.
  • Went to my other Brother’s House to celebrate his two girls: Lydia & Elsa’s birthday. The whole gang was there except Amy and her husband and friend, Chip (my brother who lives in SF) and his fiance Sarah, and my husband Clark.

Pictures from the Party (my phone died so I couldn’t take that many):

Then after the birthday party those who wanted to stay for a bonfire and roast marshmallows did and we had SO much fun just chatting around the fire until well after the sun went down. :) I just finished doing some homework and now I’m blogging – then my mom and I are going to watch a movie!!
Clark’s Scavenger Hunt Day 2
I imagine you being so much like me, that yesterday wasn’t so bad, but you’re starting to miss me a little more today… I miss you too :( I imagine that your heart feels familiar to all those little ‘breaks’ we had- apart – to sort out our feelings while dating. Remember how we’d send each other song lyrics of ‘break up songs’ to show each other the heart-ache we were going through? I know… ‘drama’ – but I feel these memories are still important, because during those times we saw & realized how much we REALLY meant to each other.

which illustrated that we were apart – but the thought of continuing down that path was unbearable. Our love always brought us back together, stronger each time. :)

I LOVE YOU!

Find Today’s Treat…. Clue: Guess what you’ve been sleeping on top of! Did you have any ‘sweet dreams’ last night?

Day 1 of UT Dr. Trip

22 Aug

The flight was great, I spoke with some very interesting people. I am so much like my Mom – I even try not to be. We both end up making lifelong friends after going on an airplane. I couldn’t resist talking to the person next me so – I whipped out my ear-buds from my iPod and two hours later I had a best friend! :)

I love the Burbank Airport because you get the fun exciting experience of walking on the ground to climb up a flight of stairs to get to your seat on the plane. It’s not everyday you see your plane that you’re trusting to fly you safely from this angle:

When I arrived in UT, this was the whole day:

  • Hug my Mom
  • Drive immediately to Whole Foods to buy food for me
  • Hug my Sister Amy and rub her blossoming pregnant belly – baby boy due in a little over 1.5 months! p.s. She’s coloring my hair next Thursday! HURRAY! :)
  •  Drive to My other sister’s house – Maren – Hug her, baby-sit her 3 year old girl Megan, chat with Maren for a few then…
  • Go eat dinner with the family – Mom overcooked the Gluten Free Noodles – now mushy – gross – sad for my Mom that she felt bad about messing up the noodles – hug and kiss her and told her I’d be happy to cook tomorrow ;)
  • Appointment with my Therapist! AWESOME meeting! He taught me
the ABC technique in dealing with my Anxiety, my ups & downs and even how to strengthen Clark’s and my relationship: Accept –> Breathe –> Choose . Instead of letting the Anxiety rule your life – Accept the situation —> Breathe through it (Notice your surroundings, engage in a conversation, divert your attention away from the Alarm of the Anxiety) –> Choose to face the fear, the angst, instead of letting it take over. My therapist encouraged me to make challenges for myself in facing the situations that cause me high anxiety (i.e. Being in an area, situation, environment where I can’t see a restroom. I literally have a panic attack about not having the ability to run to a bathroom easily if I need to), that cause me to be down and rate how I’m feeling in facing those fears. 0-10 if it’s a 10, step back and take a break then re-face it. If it’s a 0-3 it’s too easy and most likely I’m choosing to allow the Anxiety/Fear to take over. He told me I need to be between a 3 & 6. There is SO much more that I learned – it was an AWESOME session! I’ll write more about it in a future post.
  • Now I’m back home writing this update to you all and then my Mom and I are going to watch a movie :)

Clark’s Scavenger Hunt Day 1

He opened the letter and it read:

Welcome to your surprise! You found the first envelope and there will be more to come.

I miss you already, and I love you so much. This hunt is to help you feel like I’m still around and also to remind you of special moments throughout our life thus far.

First, there will be a daily YouTube Video to spark special memories that made us laugh, cry and develop our love.

See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oao58LsKn64

Also, there will be a treat that I KNOW you love to find each day. Today’s isn’t so hard to find as the $5 bill in this envelope should be obvious enough of what I’m suggesting for dinner tonight + the treat to find: LITTLE CAESARS!!! :)

Another daily activity and suggestion of something fun, today’s is: Using your free Blockbuster Coupon and going to Blockbuster to rent both 24 first season disc 1 & Alias first season disc 1

Dinner (I have your entire weeks’ dinner schedule planned! I want you to eat healthy – EVEN if I’m not there!): Pizza is the exception tonight ;)

With all these fun things to do this evening, I would love for you to take the Teddy Bear that you gave me for our 6 month Anniversary that we appropriately named ‘Tattered Teddy’ and take a picture that shows How You Found What You Found + How You Found It. That’s picture 1 of 2 and the 2nd is to show me how you’re enjoying the activity list I’ve given you :) Be as creative as you want – but the object in these pictures should illustrate the result of where and how you found the treat & the Teddy Bear representing ‘you’. :)

HAVE FUN!

 He sent me this picture:

He sent me a text that said he LOVED the surprise, and thanked me over and over for putting so much love, time and effort into the extravagant surprise and he’s having SO MUCH FUN! (Yes! I scored!)

At dinner time, he sent me this picture:

What a fun husband. He follows the rules SO good! :)
