What Means The Most

It hasn’t ended. My Birthday continues on! I am SO lucky!

A few days ago, I received a packet of peanuts and a sticky note saying “Happy Birthday! Love Dad” from my Daddy. ♥

The story behind this sentimental gift is, years back when I was around 10-12 years old my Dad had to take a second job. The job was in Colorado and we lived in UT. My Dad had to be gone all week and could only fly home on the weekends. Every time he came back home, he brought me the packet of peanuts he received while on the plane ride home. I looked forward to the peanuts every week – because it felt good to be thought of. Since then, a ‘packet of peanuts’ has been a sentimental gesture of “thinking of you” between my Dad and I. I love it. ♥

Also in the mail was a card that made me cry. Cry in a good way of course. How perfect this birthday has been, SO rich with love. I honestly feel that this has been the BEST birthday EVER in my entire life. Not because I am getting ‘so many gifts’, but rather – something better. ‘SO MUCH LOVE’. I must be lucky, because I have some awesome in-laws. What this birthday has meant to me, is miles of progress. I feel like I am re-contructing ME, and really healing myself of all that ‘binds me down’. Reading me so well, my in-laws sent me the perfect card, perfectly worded:

Becky - ... Remember that you're a wonderful daughter-in-law. ... Celebrate who you are right now and how far you have come the last several years! We love you Becky, Dad & Mom C.

I know I am lucky, and very fortunate to be surrounded by so much love. Both from Family and Friends.

I can’t remember the last ‘surprise [birthday] party’ that I was given. I’ve had a lot of great parties, but I don’t think I’ve ever had a ‘surprise party’. How FUN it was, and how well Clark kept the ‘secret’ of the party from me. Good job Love! Thank you Claire and Eric for putting that party on for me . And thank you to all who came!

I received some wonderful and VERY thoughtful gifts + cards (and comments from you all – thank you!). I LOVE notes filled with sentiments and love. Friendship means the world to me and just to know someone thought of me means the most. ♥
