Finally! Well, not complete results, but at least I have a diagnosis…
Really weird medical terms — can’t really pronounce them, but the descriptions seem legit. You’d think I’d learn all about my diagnosis from my Dr. but I found out what I had from an ‘After Visit Summary’ handed to me from the nurse. Thanks Doc! That’s Kaiser for you, in and out. Can’t say I was completely disappointed because thankfully I felt really comfortable with the Doctor and they are pretty darn organized and professional there at the hospital. Everyone was very friendly – just not really personable.
I am waiting on my Pap results and HPV Results to further investigate any other additional issues or influencing factors. I’m also scheduled to get an ultrasound – but have to wait and hear from Kaiser on what day that appointment is. I did receive my blood-work back and thankfully I am in the normal zone for Thyroid, but just barely too high in Cholesterol. My Triglycerides are normal! Woo hoo! I need to eat more fish and make sure to only consume low cholesterol foods. That and lose all my extra weight and my overall Lipid Panel should be very good. Also, my BP is 114/64 . That’s good
The sad news is that my Doctor did mention that I’d have a hard time getting pregnant because of Oligomenorrhea (or what she said the infrequent mentrual periods).
Even though I knew… or had a strong feeling that whatever I had – there really isn’t a cure, I feel pretty good knowing what exactly I have and it’s confirmed by a Doctor. According to the research I’ve done so far – there are promising methods on how to help the pain lessen… but no medication (only herbs and over the counter pain killers). I could get on birth control pills – but I’m allergic — the only medication they could prescribe. She did say, however that after I have my first baby, I have a good chance of this severe pain (Dysmenorrhea) going away.
Yes, yes I have hinted to Clark and passed on the suggestion — but he’s not budging
haha! It’ll just be a good day when that day comes (hopefully sooner, rather than later).
BIG sigh of relief. Yesterday was a good day.

Just saw you tweet this. No worries. Glad your experience was okay.
As for allergies, I am a pharmacist as well so couldnt help but ask you are allergic to all BCP? Take care Rebecca, you’re an awesome person!!
I have Dysmenorrhea the doc gave me 800 mil of advil but it never worked, actually what worked the best for me is birth control since than i haven’t had a single cramp its amazing and there like 100xs lighter. but its going to suck when we decide to try to have a baby because my cramps get so bad. I do also have a thyroid thing that might make getting pregnant harder
but not impossible
.
I put in a request with our Drug Information. Let’s see if she comes up with an alternative.
Here’s what Drug Information suggests, you can present this to your provider if you wish to. (Good luck Rebecca!)
A reaction to two agents means don’t try anymore. However, if you still want to go for it, she should exclude the previous ingredients. Per Micromedex, here are some oral options:
Necon 1/50(R) 50 mestranol 1 norethindrone
Nelova 1/50M(R)
Norinyl 1+50(R)
Ortho-Novum 1/50(R)
Trivora-28(R) Phase 1 0.05 mg levonorgestrel
30 mcg ethinyl estradiol (6 tablets)
Phase 2 0.075 mg levonorgestrel
40 mcg ethinyl estradiol (5 tablets)
Phase 3 0.125 mg levonorgestrel
30 mcg ethinyl estradiol (10 tablets
Yaz(R) 20 ethinyl estradiol 3 drospirenone
SOmetimes it really IS good to put a NAME on something.

They all have kids.. not just one.. but atleast 2!!! So dont you give up girlfriend!!!
Glad you found some answers! Sorry you have to go through that horrible pain. I say just try with all your might to get pregnant.
If it is going to be a difficult thing then why not start trying now since it might take you a while to actually conceive? Tell Clark to try that one on for size. Haha! No, but seriously – I have several close friends who have had difficultly getting pregnant for one reason or another and some of them have tried and tried and it has taken them months or even years to actually get pregnant! So, don’t waste time – get on it!
(That part was for Clark)
I only say that because I know that it is a scary thought and it holds ya back once you guys do have a little one you’ll be SO grateful you did it! They are SUCH a joy and blessing. You’ll wish you’d had one sooner!!!!!!!!! Love ya.
@Leaming:
Yes, I went over with the Dr. about how Yaz and Trivora gave me an incredible pain in my left leg that never went away until I stopped taking the pills. Trivora also gave me a rash from my waist down to my feet that itched constantly! Once I stopped taking the pill, within a few days the rash went away. Yaz didn’t give me a rash, but did give me a terrible pain in my left leg. The Dr. concluded that I was clearly allergic and didn’t dare try another pill or any other form of BC.
@Sara
It’s good to hear from someone who knows exactly what I’m going through. I hope to hear more from you in the future
Thank you for understanding and sharing that you do.
