How Will People Remember You?
21 Apr
I’m reading a book here, it’s called “Word of Mouth Marketing” by Andy Sernovitz Forward by Seth Godin (Marketing Genius) . I’ve only read the first 20 pages, and the gist I understand so far roots from the question you should ask yourself “How will people remember me?”
The best way I could illustrate this example is to ‘Linky Love’ a selection of blogs that are fresh on the surface of my mind (those of you I list are lucky -because it means you’re doing something good to have me remember you!)
. Imagine me talking to a friend and they ask me what types of blogs do I read / or who is on my Google Reader…
Merrianne – “She’s EVERYWHERE! She’s always changing her blog url address – but no worries she’ll let you know. HAHA!”
Mother Goose – “You’ll laugh. She’s hilarious. You’ll for sure want to be on her side in a heated debate. Then you’re safe.
lol “
Jan – “She’s incredibly nice. She has an amazing sense of style and you’ll see it when she posts pictures of her home.”
Brittany – “Put simply, you’ll leave her blog feeling better about yourself. I don’t know how she does it – but she has a very warm and welcoming blog.”
Christine – “A peaceful taste of London. I love it.”
The Creamery – “She has such a strong talent in whimsical writing. Her blog is like reading a book, I’m hooked.”
Ashley – “Her blog is a Family you want as your next door neighbor. She’ll be a friend for life.”
There are LOTS of other blogs I read, but for example purposes of this blog post – these are the ones that are fresh on my mind. Are the descriptions accurate? Well, that’s up for debate (Mother Goose!
). Basically you answer the question below with a 1-2 sentence description and go with it in promoting your self/blog/business – in hopes that is the “word-of-mouth” that is spread.
How do you want people to remember you?
With the question in mind, I sit and wonder how people remember me… the girl with two cats? The girl who is irresistibly in love with her husband? The girl who strives to be healthy, and takes you along for the journey? The Artistic Blogger? The girl who loves her LDS Faith?
Well… I hope whatever it is – it’s good, it’s positive, and it’s long-lasting.
