What is My Story?

Where do I come from? Do I have kids? Why do I blog? What do I care about?

According to the wise ‘ole David Risely, who has some great blogging tips – he suggests that successful bloggers have a character. What is mine?

I never really thought of myself as a character but more plural — character(s), as I change sporadically from time to time. Some days I am a tech-nerd, others I’m a Health Nut, and most days I’m a Religious Thinker/ Book Worm. The list goes on and on… but David suggests giving my Readers a ‘back story’ to Rebecca. So here it goes:

menewbornI was born in Northern California, the seventh child of 2 parents who came from a family of 3 children each… go figure they’d more then double the kids for themselves! I myself, have plans to down-size the amount of kids for my family. ;) Not that I didn’t love growing up in a large family… I am just not as ambitious as my parents.

My Dad grew up Lutheran and my Mom came from a long line of LDS Families. After a few years into their marriage, my Dad converted to the LDS Faith.

When I was about 7 years old my Family moved from N. California to Utah. There I went to school until I was married at age 23 and moved with my husband to Sunny (No Snow :D ) Los Angeles California. I’m a Beach Baby at heart and it feels so good to be back to my roots!

I love my Faith with all my heart. I love Family, and I love my Husband. We have 2 wonderful Cats named Hero & Tiny Kitty. We have no children (yet), but are getting some-what trained with H&T. So… I guess in some regard their our Temp. Kids ;)

I’m a girl who prefers Dresses over pants any day. I hate wearing shoes, and I LOVE to shop at Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s! I despise snow, but wouldn’t mind living back east some day. I love all things Old Fashioned, the Time Period of Jane Austen, The TV Series Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, etc…

I would be Vegetarian, except I love meat. So, I’m a semi-pescatarian ? I can go long periods with just eating fish, so does that count?

I’m a sucker for Animals (hence, the inner desire to go Veg some days).

Update 07-22-09: Been Vegetarian / officially ‘Pescatarian’ since May ‘09, upon discovering that the diet helps to cure the disease I was diagnosed with (Dysmenorrhea).

I am an open book, I say what I think and generally am not afraid to discuss about tough topics (i.e. Politics & Abortion, etc)

My husband turned me into a Nerd, but I knew how to be fully independent on the Computer at age 2. So I had it coming someday ;) We both work from home running our many businesses — anything to pay the bills. We Custom Design Blogs, Websites, and my Husband works as a Director of Photography/Camera Man on TV Shows and Movies from time to time. I use my Artistic Skills in Painting and Sketching to do Book Illustrations, and we both do Photography for Headshots to earn income. We have MANY hats!

I am whole-heartedly sorrowful for those who despise their In-Laws, as I absolutely adore mine. :)

I recently heard about a Blogger out there who makes fun of LDS Newlyweds? Lame, because I am seriously SO happy AND blessed in my Marriage, so I feel for you – who I guess, has to find her happiness through making fun of others? Anyways… just saying…

I suffer from EXTREMELY painful Periods (TMI for some of you, but I am who I am — and say what I want, lol ), I had extreme Anxiety but have overcome that obstacle in my life and will soon – in a future post on my blog – will write about my Journey in overcoming Anxiety. Awesome story!

Update 07-22-09: Was diagnosed Apr ‘09 with Dysmenorrhea — which causes my EXTREMELY painful periods.

As you can see, I am no ‘Mommy Blogger’, I didn’t get fired for Blogging, so I don’t have a ‘cool’ story like that. But My Story is building, changing and revising every day. Here on My Blog you’ll read about Religious Topics as I learn more and more about Gospel Principles. You’ll read about My Family, its growth and adventures. I vent in my ‘Soap Box‘ regularly about things that get the wheels in my head turning at a rapid pace. I write Poetry often, and I share all that intrigues me and excites me.

I’m sure my ‘About Me‘ will change and revise as I learn more about myself and what you all would like to learn about me. So go ahead, ask me anything you’d like to know and I’ll do my best to respond openly. :) I’ll answer on my About Me page, so check it often as I gradually add to it.

While you’re here, Subscribe to My Blog and keep updated on my thoughts and stories. I’d love to hear from you as well, so feel free to comment anytime!

It’s really cool to get to know you better! I have a ton in common with you, like my love for animals and the beach, and a shared hatred for wearing shoes. :)
